Objective
After the previous battle, the Enterprise needs serious repairs, inside and outside. The saucer section has been completely damaged, so it will be replaced.
At the drydocks, there is a huge robot, R2D2, who can manipulate such large objects. This is the best time to test the new manipulator robot design, which can operate it.
The mission is simple: build the manipulator robot and control the levers which control R2D2.
And as always, the captain is anxious to finish repairs as fast as possible. You would not like to disappoint your new captain in your new command mission.
Rules
- You need to build and program your own robot.
- You are not allowed to change the scale of the robot. The robot must have the dimensions the VRT gives when importing. You are not allowed to change these dimensions.
- There is no restriction for the robot’s dimensions height.
- You will need to start your recording showing us the robot fits the starting area before running the simulation, to validate your submission.
- The robot must be autonomous. No manual controlling is allowed. To verify this, you need to record your full screen, to make sure no keys are assigned and pressed.
- Judges may ask for your program if they feel there is manual control.
- You can manually place the robot at the levers.
- Your robot should be able to control to levers autonomous, in order to complete the mission.
- There are no secrets for this mission.
- Remember that the scoreboard must be visible at all time.
- Take care on how you write the time in the submission form. Time will be provided in seconds, with decimal! If this is not correctly inputed or transformed from VRT scoreboard, the submission will be invalidated.
Scoring
- Upon submitting, you must provide the video link, along with the final score. The score recorded on the scoreboard must be the same with the one you insert manually upon submitting. Differences will automatically invalidate your submission.
- There are two tasks in this mission: remove saucer and place new saucer in place. Each will provide some points.
- Every participant who completely and correctly finishes the mission will get 35 points, regardless the time recorded.
- Time counts for this mission. The standings will be based on the next criteria:
- Best scores first;
- In case of ties, best time will be taken in consideration.
- Bonus points will be awarded as such:
- 5 points to the 1st classified;
- 4 points to the 2nd classified;
- 3 points to the 3rd classified;
- 2 points to the 4th classified;
- 1 point to the 5th classified.
