Chief engineer’s log, stardate 42393.1
***you are sitting at your desk, looking at some datapads filled with reports about the ships working parameters
We have not yet really recovered from the last mission and we already got new orders. We are still testing some of the systems after the forced landing on Aldea. But they seem to work just fine. Those Aldeans! They are really a piece of work, they managed to solve many of our problems so fast! I am almost glad we were forced to land.
***you are taking another datapad with data about the destination planet
Now that this is not a concern anymore, we need to be careful on this new planet. We never charted this one because it seemed bening. A class K planet, full of ice and rocks. Yet there is a distress signal coming from it. I bet some clumsy Ferengi crashed there, hehe. And Starfleet to the rescue!
Interesting enough, the signal is actually an FM signal, an old method of communicating originated in the early 19th century back on Earth. But we were not the only ones to use it of course.
***you raise an eyebrow as you read more information from that datapad
Hmm… Come to think about it, I remember reading something in the Academy. Some ancient civilizations setup distress signals to lure others to an inhabitable planet. There, they put them to some challenges just for their fun. They would either pass their challenges or die there. And all was transmitted via subspace for others to watch as entertainment. Yes! I remember, they used…. ***you stop a bit as in shock *** used FM signals!!!
I got to warn the captain!

Civilization: N/A
Civilization’s age: est. 65 432 years old
Name : PSX-55423
Species: N/A
As far as we could explore it, PSX-55423 is a barren planet, with no vegetation or animal life. There are some ruins here and there, as sign that at some point it was a living place, but the lack of sun in this area means the planet became hostile a long time ago.
