General Rules

  1. This is a competition meant, first of all, for learning. Therefore, try to enjoy the experience 🙂  .
  2. Access to the Grand Final is available only to the qualified participants, exactly 37 of them.
  3. The Grand Final of the championship will start on 26th of January 2021, 08:00 (UTC).
  4. Each stage has a fixed number of missions that you have to finish during the 5 days competition.
  5. Every mission has its own set of rules, so take your time to read them.
  6. If you need to build a robot, it must be your own. Judges will not accept duplicate robots. In case of multiple users submitting the same robot, only the first submission of the first user will be accepted. The others will be invalidated. In order to determine if it is a copy, judges may ask for you robot design file to decide. Obvious submissions will be invalidate automatically. For clarification: similarities are accepted, but copying is not!
  7. In any case, the robot must be autonomous!
  8. You are not allowed to change any of the environment settings inside the simulation.
  9. You can submit as many results as you want during the whole competition. Scores will be updated only if you submit better results then previously registered.
  10. You may submit scores up until 30th of January 2021, 23:59 (UTC).
  11. All submissions must include a video, as proof. We suggest you upload your video to your YouTube channel, as unlisted. You can find a tutorial here.
  12. The videos must have the scoreboard visible all the time for validating purposes. Submitted videos without visible scoreboard will be invalidated by default.
  13. Judges will validate each result by default. Even if the standings table is updated upon submission, scores can be modified by judges.
    1. Score modification is done only after judges discuss with the participant. Such a discussion refers to program enquirers or more explanations upon the uploaded video.
    2. If judges decide the program or video violated any of the competition rules, the submission will be invalidated and noted in the “Invalidate submissions” section, on the “Standings” page. Scores will then be updated with the previous best submission, if any.
    3. If proof of repeatedly cheating is found, the participant will get banned from the current competition and future International Robotics Championship events.
  14. The judges will validate results during and after the end of the submission period and the final results will be displayed on 31st of January 2021. All participants will be notified.
  15. In case of tie scores, the next rules will apply:
    1. Mission 1 score will have priority;
    2. In case of ties in mission 1 score, mission 2 score will have priority.
  16. Tie scores will be updated during final results.
  17. All scores will be added to the general standings at the end of the Grand Final, on 31st of January 2021.
  18. Certificates of participation will be awarded to every contestant who sent at least one relevant video submission. This means the video must show a robot which tries to finish the mission, but it does not necessarily mean it has to score.
  19. Prizes will be offered for the first 3 best scores as explained below:
    1. First place: certificate with the title “Champion of Robotics”, access to robotics course on http://elearning.robitware.ru/ and a Steam Gift card of 50 Euro.
    2. Second place: certificate with the title “Great Engineer of Robotics”, access to robotics course on http://elearning.robitware.ru/ and a Steam Gift card of 20 Euro.
    3. Second place: certificate with the title “Great Engineer of Robotics”, access to robotics course on http://elearning.robitware.ru/ and a Steam Gift card of 10 Euro.
  20. There may be some delay beyond the 31st of January 2020 in handling the prizes. Rest assured, all of them will reach you!
